Scout Outings
Whether it's pinch pots, paint your own pottery, or glass fusion, The Kiln offers a variety of fun, educational workshops for Scouts of all ages to earn their Clay Badge! Scouts learn all about the different ways ceramics are created, how the firing process works, and they even get to see a professional demonstration on the pottery wheel! Official Scout Pottery Badge Not Included.

Pinch Pots
​
The Pinch Pot Scout Outing is our most popular workshop! In addition to the educational tour and professional demonstration, scouts participate in a handbuilding class where they shape and glaze a pinch pot to take home.
$18 per scout including The Kiln Badge.

Glass Fusion
For the scouts who have already completed the pinch pot outing or are more interested in glass fusion, we offer the 4-inch Sun catcher or glass tile workshop! It's safe for all ages, and offered in addition to the educational tour and professional demonstration, with an emphasis on independent creativity!
$20 per scout including The Kiln Badge.

Pottery Painting
Painting pottery is a perfect activity for scouts of all ages! We offer a wide variety of pottery pieces, all ready to be painted. All of our pieces are priced individually so budgets are flexible, though the $15-$18 figurines are our most popular option! To add on an educational tour, professional demonstration, and The Kiln badges for your scouts is an additional $3 per person.

Wheel Throwing Class
This option is great for older scouts! Scouts can participate in a wheel throwing class and learn the basics of throwing on the potters wheel. using one pound of clay, scouts will get step-by-step instruction from an accomplished ceramic artist, and get to make and glaze their own piece of pottery. The Kiln Badge, demonstration and educational tour included.
